Queen’s Roger Taylor Talks Recording New Music With Adam Lambert

Posted on 10/22/2014 9:33:00 AM by Gary Graff

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 06: Members of the music group Queen Roger Taylor (L) and Brian May (R) with Adam Lambert (C) attend the 'Queen And Adam Lambert' press conference at Madison Square Garden on March 6, 2014 in New York City. Is Queen + Adam Lambert headed towards new music? Drummer Roger Taylor thinks so -- or at least hopes so.

Taylor tells us that the group's next move is a European tour in early 2015, but he and guitarist Brian May would also like to hit the studio with singer Lambert to see what could happen there:
"I would hope so. I would hope it would, actually. I think it would be a very interesting experiment. It would be nice to just go in and see what came out. I don't know if it would be an album or anything, but I think it's too good a marriage to just let it go at touring. I'm sure we'll do something. His voice is so extraordinary, and it's a beautiful instrument. I think it would be nice. We better come up with some material..."

Taylor added that Lambert is also busy working on a solo album, while the drummer is preparing to release a pair of solo compilations -- the single-disc "Best" on October 27 and the box set "The Lot" on November 11 -- and the "Queen Forever" compilation, featuring three previously unreleased tracks, is due out November 11.
